Shandong Provincial Key Laboratories are an important component of Shandong Province’s “1313” laboratory system. They are established independently or jointly by universities，research institutes，enterprises and new-type R&D institutions with strong capabilities，and serve as important platforms for organizing high-level basic research，applied basic research and frontier technology research，important bases for gathering and cultivating outstanding talent，carrying out high-level innovation cooperation and opening up new tracks for future development，as well as an important reserve force for creating national key laboratories.

Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Intelligent Molecular Science and Engineering，actively responding to the national strategic demand of “serving people’s life and health”，focuses on Shandong Province’s strong foundation and development potential in fields such as AI-enabled high-end chemicals and new materials industries，intelligent medical and healthcare technologies，as well as major development opportunities and pain points in industrial upgrading in high-end medical materials，especially intelligent biomedical products. It integrates the top-tier advantageous resources of Qingdao University，Xiangtan University and Shandong Lifei Biotechnology Industry Co., Ltd. in AI、chemical molecular engineering、structural theoretical computation、biomedical materials、clinical medicine and industrial application. Through the dual-wheel drive of source innovation in molecular design and the traction of health application terminals，it can promote Shandong to achieve original breakthroughs “from 0 to 1” and industrial diffusion “from 1 to N” in the field of AI biomedical products，injecting strong momentum into the building of a modern industrial system.

As a national-level service-oriented manufacturing demonstration project for medical devices，Lifei Biotech has built a medical device 3C（CRO+CDMO+CSO）platform，and has respectively established Changchun and Jiaxing2 R&D and manufacturing bases as well as a San Francisco biological antibody R&D center. It owns scientific research transformation and innovation platforms including the Shandong Engineering Research Center，provincial new-type R&D institution，Qingdao biomedical industry proof-of-concept platform，innovation consortium，and municipal technology innovation center，and is able to provide scientific research institutes and universities，medical institutions and innovative enterpriseswith full-cycle medical device productization services including new technology evaluation，product development，sample production，clinical trials，registration application，mass production，and supply chain management.

The laboratoryfocuses on “intelligent molecular science and engineering” as a core element of new quality productive forces，and is committed to promoting the transformation and upgrading of Shandong’s biomedical industry toward high technology，high added value and intelligence（medical，healthcare），cultivating and developing “top ten industries” such as new materials and biomedicine，and contributing Shandong’s strength to solving major national scientific and technological issues in the field of biomedical materials.
